Assignments to Prepare for the Class:
|
This is where the webpage for the course is; from now on, you can find all the course information here.
Once you have logged on, explore the course webpage for a while until you feel comfortable that you know where to find things (It may help if you read the syllabus below first).
Please do not ask me to fix technical problems; unfortunately, I don't have the expertise or systems access - contact IT first, and then if the problem is not easily fixed, email me to let me know what problem you are having and what you have done with IT so far to try and fix it. Continue to call IT until the problem is resolved, and keep updating me about your progress until the problem is fixed.
You MUST use your BMCC email, but you can set it up to forward to whatever email account you'd like to use.
I CANNOT email you regularly at another email address - unfortunately, this is just the way Brightspace has been set up on our campus, and I cannot change it. If you write to me from a non-BMCC email address, I can reply to that address, but any emails I send out to the class on a regular basis will go to your BMCC email (unless you have set it up to forward to another address!).
Please do not ask me to fix technical problems with your email ; unfortunately, I don't have the expertise or systems access - contact the Helpdesk first, and then if the problem is not easily fixed, email me to let me know about what problem you are having and what you have done with the Helpdesk so far to try and fix it. Continue to call the Helpdesk until the problem is resolved, and keep updating me about your progress until the problem is fixed.
If you are having trouble with your email and so are not getting messages from me, you can still find any important new infomation on the main page of our course webpage in Brightspace, which you can also get to by clicking on the "Announcements" button on the purple course menu.
If you plan on using an email address which is not a BMCC email address, make sure to put my email address cwladis@bmcc.cuny.edu on your email program's accept list so that my emails to you are not filtered to your spam folder. To find out how to do this, contact your email provider.
In order to be able to see all the math symbols that we use in the class, you may need to download a few programs and make sure that they are set up correctly.
You must complete this step before you go any farther!
